Is there more to do than drink beer at the Oktoberfest?
Absolutely! Although Oktoberfest pays homage to the world-class Bavarian art of brewing beer, all tents offer non-alcoholic beverages and many serve wine and spirits as well. Venture outside the beer tents where a ton of fun awaits. You’ll find a dizzying assortment of over 200 carnival rides and side shows. Don’t miss the Power Tower, the Alpinabahn, or the Rocket, some of the main Oktoberfest attractions – which should probably be enjoyed before drinking a Maß of beer. Tamer rides such as the Krinoline (old-fashioned merry-go-round), the Riesenrad (big Ferris wheel), or the Autoscooters are still fun while minimizing the upchuck factor. When you tire of rides, win a rose for your sweetheart at the Rosenschießen shooting gallery, or enjoy the Schichtl Variety Show, where you’ll see things beyond your wildest imagination.
