Experience the excitement of Oktoberfest’s opening day. Watch the traditional parade of Oktoberfest hosts, brewery wagons, marching bands, and horse drawn carriages as it makes its way toward the Theresienwiese festival grounds.
Guests who want to dive straight into the action may choose to arrive early at the festival grounds in hopes of securing seating in one of the large tents. At noon, Munich’s Lord Mayor taps the first keg in the Schottenhamel tent and declares O’zapft is, officially beginning Oktoberfest.
For a more intimate Oktoberfest experience, consider an optional reservation in a smaller tent. Enjoy traditional music, Bavarian food, festival beer, and a lively atmosphere in a setting that feels personal and festive.
